This setlist would be nice:

It is possible to do a short setlist with classics and some new without going booring.
This would be lovely.

1. Beautiful Day
2. Raised By Wolf
3. Until The End Of The World
4. New Years Day
5. New Song
6. Bad

oooooh cannot wait to hear the new Wolf song!!

Doubt it would be they can't play them. U2 songs aren't known for being too technical (aside from Edge's effects)

I would believe it more if they can't find a good live arrangement. Many U2 songs have been soundchecked and never seen the light of day.

Not because they can't play them, but they feel they sound like shit.

Though why Electrical Storm live arrangement ever made it to the paying public blows my mind. Edge's guitar in the chorus sounds so....off???

This is going to be a very long day

And tomorrow could be one of the best meltdown days ever

Right. I also considered the case of The Crystal Ballroom here. They obviously tried working on that arrangement a bit, but only gave it two(?) airings so far. When I was at the first one, it still kind of came across as "Meh." imo, anyway.

2. Raised By Wolf

The sheer volume and detail of the supposed misdirection makes me think there's no misdirection.

If I wanted to fool people, I wouldn't ask my team to make up elaborate lies, I'd just say "no new songs in 2016," "no new songs at iheart," and "albums not done yet "

I hope the U2 super fans a the gig don't force a sit down because they didn't get front row.....

It could ruin everything

Oh my god, I hadn't thought of that. what the hell's going on at the arena? Are a bunch of fucksticks running a list yet spending most of the day hitting the casinos annoying people all over town with a never ending singalong of Lady With The Spinning Head?

Even if it's the truth that they tried and failed to play several new songs, I still think that bodes well.

If they were attempting (up until yesterday) to play several new tunes, that to me implies a big album announcement.

If the story is they tried and failed to have several songs ready to play live, i think it says more that we just won't get lots of new material during the show, but will probably nonetheless get a lead single/album announcement.

Good point. And I am running on the assumption that U2 would be smart enough to pen a deal with iheart for radio play, or lets be honest, why play this type of show?
If they do have a deal, i find it unfathomable that they would not play the song that will hit radio.

You'd have thought somebody somewhere would have snapped a shot of the printed set list by now.

Given they're not making a big thing of the 40th anniversary stuff, they must have new music. Otherwise why surface now?

To be honest we don't know if the rumor that they scrapped some big plan for the 40th anniversary is true. Maybe we get all old stuff tonight, but a new song and album announcement for the 40th. God this is infuriating.

Honestly if nothing new happens here that is seriously baffling

If Harry is accurate:

I still find it unbelievable that they still don't have a defined setlist 12 hours before a show that they've known they were playing weeks ago (if not several months ago).

If true, this also leads me to believe that the album isn't finished OR they finished VERY recently and still aren't comfortable w/ the songs yet.

What if they are completely reinventing themselves as a jam band with different set-lists every night and "Experience" means they are now experienced enough to tour in this fashion..... all they need is perhaps people running the video stuff to push the right button during the opening handful of notes for each song.

Could happen...

Let us remind ourselves... U2 play on a festival together with other way more successful "charts" acts. These performances will likely be used to promote new material. U2 tend to "try" new songs on their own tour from time to time, but they would never ever just "try" new songs on iHeart if they could not play them blind. That has to be a rock solid performance.... so if they play SOE Songs they want to impress... and not like "oh let's try this new song... could sound shit but we still hope you like it"

On the other hand it would be Rock'n'Roll style if they just improvise and throw in under rehearsed SOE songs.... but that won't happen.

If they don't play any new songs because they don't like the live arrangement, although they know since ages that they will play iHeart.... that would be..... well... U2 again.

If they intended to promote SOE by playing new songs, but they don't due to.... ?!? .... well then they are..... U2

You'd think if they were going to play a new song tonight, they would have released it to the public already.

Been swimming through these threads - what time does U2 hit the stage?

I'm excited either way, we will get some sort of answer tonight.

And there's still nothing. Unless it's September 9, 2014 all over again, say hello to one of the best greatest hits sets in history! :reject:

Desire? I could see them play that..easy for the band, uptempo, people know it...

Bullet? That'll go down like a fart in church.

Just passing along this tweet I saw from a U2 fan in Vegas:

This wait is excruciating.

Desire, yeah, big hit back in the day, still well known outside of core fan base. Bullet is a bit like Streets, bankers in a normal U2 gig, but would seem an odd choice in this kind of context? Would be good though, and would hint at some sort of political message, Trump anyone!! Would love a snippet of a verse from refugee, would be cool.

Adding speculation to the Adam solo gig, Interference member Peterrrrr predicts the debut of Raised By Wolf, proceeds to freak out over lack of GA pit at iHeart gig.

oooooh cannot wait to hear the new Wolf song!!

U2 was raised by Wolf? Then this would explain it if they aren't competent enough to be able to play a new song tonight.

 You made my day(including myself), must be my best post here.
