Man I don’t know how the first time listeners were able to review these songs in so detailed! The excitement for me makes it almost impossible. Lol there were two or three stand out tracks for sure! And # 1 is pure epicness!

I know the more modern sound isn't to everyone's taste, but I do think the production on the album as a whole is pretty strong. Best Thing sounds like it got shortchanged by the last minute re-record/remix.

this will begin to make things right! looks like someone beat me to the link to the fblive recording. whew i can sleep tonight...:)

Agreed, Best Things stood out as an oddly unrealized vibe. But that surely has something to do with my knowing too much of its mix history.

Still thing GOOYOW should have been re-structured, still not impressed with Blackout nor with American Soul.

All that said, I had a great couple listens.

Yeah, to me, this album has zero War on it.

There is some AB, some Zooropa, and some Pop influences.

IMHO, it's a diverse album, a little bit of everything.

Mostly I think that’s right. Red Flag Day had a little bit of War I thought.

Lots of great atmospherics and soundscapes on this album, broken up by some more straighforward songs. Personally think it gives the album a nice, varied flow.

I think it works both as an album on its own, and as a companion piece to SOI.

9/10 - definitely upper echelon U2 for me
