COL's intro is straight from an Eno ambient track

people need to stop being so nervous about this. eno and lanois are very talented musicians and producers, and knowing that I can say, if Lanois and Eno recycled something else they did once, they did so either because a.) it was a good recontextualization of the music, or b.) because it was the best possible sample to use.

Either one of those is fine. But who cares, it's gorgeous. I'm thankful U2 gave Eno and Lanois writing credits, because the album has an element of freshness that's been missing.

I don't think they had much choice.

Totally, this has them all over it. I love it and think it's great.

I honestly believe that the intro for Streets is totally Eno, and numerous other things on TUF and perhaps they should've had credit before, but it's obviously not created bad feeling because they worked together again... It reared it's head again during the ATYCLB sessions and...

...they really didn't have a choice this time because I think agreements were made earlier on to remove any tension from the sessions... Thank God they did...
