No one's saying they're not excited, they're saying they'll believe there's a new album when there's an actual release date scheduled.

These are the exact same quotes as we've already seen from the other thread, U2.com etc. So it's certainly nothing worth getting worked up over either way.

That's so bloody true. What has become of us?

The sheep crying wolf a few too many times. That's what! Next thing you know, they'll release 30-second clips of potentially amazing songs that we will think about for months but never hear completed. Then they'll tease us with a possible album release date, then withdraw, then make us wait another few months for something underwhelming. I love U2, but .

There's one thing I still am excited for though. Will there be new beachclips?

For the rest, yeah, I'll believe it when I'm holding the new album in my hands. Far too often we've indeed heard the cries but never seen the wolf.

The Temper Trap as an example of a new hybrid of rock and club music with experimental sounds?

I don't even dislike the band, but in terms of "innovation", they are as generic among the new, upcoming bands as they come.

That may be true (I don't really know the Temper Trap), but I'm choosing to take that quote as confirmation that anything U2 considers a "club" album is not going to sound like Lady Gaga or Katy Perry or whatever giant fears some fans seem to have whenever the "club" album gets mentioned.

I really dig this Temper Trap tune. Imagine Bono singing that falsetto.

Not sure he could at this point if he wanted to.
