A torrent with the new album was created a few days ago. It is titled "No Line On The Horizon" and it's got 12 songs on it.

01-No Line On The Horizon-The Cedars of Lebanon 5 MB

07-No Line On The Horizon-If I Could Live My Life Again 4.7 MB
08-No Line On The Horizon-Love Is All We Have Left 5.1 MB
09-No Line On The Horizon-North Star 6.8 MB
10-No Line On The Horizon-Mercy 5 MB
11-No Line On The Horizon-Lead Me In The Way I Should Go 4.5 MB
12-No Line On The Horizon-You Can't Give Away Your Heart 6.8 MB

As you can see they are all files, but in the important message it says that you have to rename all of the to .zip to get access to the songs. It also says that you should register to some websites to get the password needed to open the .zip files. But in a guy wrote a comment on the torrent tracker about it and said that you wont get a password after signing up on those sites. I started out renaming the first song "Cedars Of Lebanon" to .zip and opend it. And in it there was a file with the same name but with at the end. I tried to extract it but you need a password. I downloaded a password-cracker program and it's working on it right now. I think it will be done in 3-4 hours, and when it is I'll report back. I don't think I can post a link to the torrent site but just try searching "U2 Horizon" on the major torrent sites and you might find the torrent named "U2 - No Line On The Horizon 2008 (Advanced Album)".

It's prolly a fake, but who knows...
 
this sounds like major bs, since we already know every single title that is listed there...those are just all titles we've seen floating around interference, atu2.com, etc....surely there will be tracks on the new album that we have never heard of....
 
Yeah, it's probably fake, but try your best to get whatever password is necessary. I'm curious.
 
and if it were real and created days ago, it would be all over the friggin net right now.
 
Yeah I dunno, sounds like someone is trying to yank some chains to me. I wouldn't submit any personal information to any websites.. could be a ploy/gimmick to get passwords to your computer or something, or they might contain virus' etc.
 
yes.. probably fake... but it worths a try (at least the poor guys made the effort to write some real titles to the songs :applaud:)
 
Seeing as how those are the exact same titles that have been listed as possible titles on atu2.com for ages, as well as the same as those mentioned in a few (lame) articles about the new album (all of which, it seems, got the titles from atu2.com), plus the addition of "It's Six O'Clock," which is taken from a Bono interview in which he says that's the first line of a new song.....it seems to me that it's almost certainly fake.

There's just about no way that every single one of the working titles listed on atu2.com for the last few years will have remained the same over all this time. It's possible that we may see some of those titles, but there's no way that every single one has remained unchanged.
 
I'm downloading the torrent and will try it for myself. It went through a scan and there were no viruses detected in it. That means next to nothing, but it's a start.
 
while we're on the subject of personal information, would anyone be interested in sitting down for a half hour to hear about a great opportunity i've been lucky enough to become a part of? it will only take a half hour of your time and there's huge earning potential!

:wink: Nah, anticipation is making me wait: 27.5% done.

One possibility I just thought of is that the music could be real, but the working titles were used because whoever made the archive had no idea what the real ones were at that point. It's a longshot, but U2 has always sucked at keeping their albums from leaking.

i guess that's true. it would just seem waaaaaay too good to be true considering U2 hasn't even announced the title of their album yet.

It IS too good to be true. The only instance I remember a U2 leak happening this early was the Discotheque leak in 1996, and that was just a single song.

But hey, what the hell. My bandwith isn't restricted, and I have time.
 
What seems strange to me is that the files were listed as mp3 files when I fired up bitTorrent, which means they should be immediately playable, no renaming required. :confused:
 
listen to me, it's probably a fake, i won't try to discover cause it's dangerous. With the torrent package there's a read_me file.There's the real danger to get personal informations (IP, cookies to online bank account) to be taken!
