GOYB isn't bad! I expected worse after the videos from HTAAB haven't been the greatest.
So I hope that it's getting back to the good old times.
Remember,
if God will send his angels, Please, Lemon, Last night on earth, Mysterious ways, One.... stuff like that!!!!!
The last real good one was Electrical storm - in my opinion. Nothing against Vertigo, but I'm not into 4 lads and a performance video...

So I REALLY hope, that they take the chance and create great videos again!!!

I'm not a huge fan of GOYB video, but it is growing on me.

I believe turning to Anton would do them good.

When have U2 ever made great and innovative videos?

GOYB is an amazing video for U2's standards.

Btw, there is an extensive discussion of the song and video in the album forum.

I think the Boots video is great. The leaked version was even better.

I think U2's videos have been improving over time. The vids for Orignal Of The Species, Windows (artists version) and especially Saints were brilliant.

This shouldn't be about discussing GOYB.

I just realised that I didn't like the new ones'! Hmmm, if you won't call it innovative than call them just great! ;) Lemon for example. Always great to me!! :D

Eerrrm, can't say that I like them. Boring videos to VERY boring songs!!!
The Saints are coming is a good song, but the video?? Performance video again!!

@MissEno! Yeah, the Corbijn factor always works for me, too!

Matter of taste, I guess. I've always loved U2's "political/social" side, so it makes sense for me to love the Saints video :)

Added: oh and I don't like those grainy b/w things very much (sorry Anton). Nor the wowy type video.

I agree with you. I'm not really into performance videos.
GYOB is cool, def. better than vertigo.
I'm hoping for something along the lines of discotheque or numb

i love... love ... love ..the GOYB video....it's mind blowing .. you could watch it over and over and still find something new in it. they pay homage to the great artists of the '60's. Rosenquist,Rauschenberg,Lichtenstein and so many others. U2 always incorporates fantastic art in their videos and live shows. i remember going to an art exhibit of Jenny Holtzer early 90's .. before the zoo tour .... when i saw the zoo-tv tour .. they had incorporated so much of her work in the stage show.

i will always, always love love love "i will follow". Watching young Bono skipping all over the place is irreplaceable. "You're eeeeeeeeeeeyes, make a circle....."

I always thought the with or without video was pretty effective and haunting.

I thought Elevation was clever and fun.

If God will send his Angels I thought was very original and artistic.

oh well, that's just my two cents.

If God will Send His Angels is one of my favs.

I'm also a huge fan of Please and Electrical Storm (being a Corbijn freak).

Red Hill Mining Town is also very... interesting :hmm:

I think most of their Pop videos are crappy.

I like the Corbijn video for One.

Electrical Storm has a nice concept, but I don't like the soft porn like scenes in there, I think they are quite embarrassing. Like the overall mood of that video, though.

The very early videos are funny.

Artistically, I like the Original video and the WITS video a lot.

And of course Boots.
