Questions about the artwork on Bono's gates

Hi guys, not sure if this is the right place to post this question. Apologies if it's totally wrong, please tell me where to go I took a pic of one of the illustrations on Bono's gates a few years back (no idea how to upload it, sorry) The illustration is a witchy looking jack in the box, on the box is a question mark. First question, is this Bono's original art work? Second, is there a meaning or story behind this character? Thanks in advance xx
