Bono pronunciation of son's name

Weird question, but I noticed at approx 5:30 of this video bono mentein his son's name pronouncing it Eeel-ee-ah. I always thought it was E-lie-ja, like how you say Elijah Wood's name.

Anyone heard different? Or maybe know something about the pronunciations being connected? Biblical?

It is pronounced like Elijah Wood’s name. In english anyway. Maybe this boy pronounced it more like the Germans do and Bono just copied that
