Ok the first time I laughed my ass off seeing that pic pop up everywhere, now it gets a bit old and tiring.
Could we not have threads that link to a website that has a source that links to another source and yeah, you get the point.
We got these pics from news sites, and they were posted, seems a bit dodgy to me to post the link to another U2 website for them as well.

damn...Bono really needs to lose weight...he looks a trillion times better in every way thinner...hopefully by the time the tour starts he looks better...

it's not impossible for him to look like Popmart days...or even Elevation days....

Really, I'd say he looks considerably better than he did just a year or two ago, although I've not exactly kept up on this. But it doesn't really look like he swallowed a medicine ball anymore.

Well, actually he HAS lost weight, just compare these pictures to the photos from last year or two years ago, his belly is almost gone.

He looked like that during Elevation. People who always say Bono is overweight tend to forget that he has never been skinny, this is just the way he is built.

During Popmart he looked unhealthy, almost sick.

And I find it a little unfair to take photos that were taken during his private holidays (by paparrazzi), where he was just relaxing, enjoying life and having a good time with his family to complain about the way he looks like.

He looks very fine for a man his age. I don't know why people are so shocked when he takes his shirt off, he has always looked like that, we just don't see it so often.

Man, I want to see how we all look at 49. It's easier to lose weight and stay thin when you're young, but when you get older and are generally built like this, it becomes really hard, and we all know Bono loves life. Btw, he has admitted to work out for the tour. He will be in good shape, and I really believe it's easier to handle such a tour if you have a little flesh on your bones :)

Actually i think Bono looks fine, it must be hard to travel, eat, socialise, drink and be as busy as this boy is and still stay really fit and trim...it gets harder as you get older, just ask me...I understand why everyone likes him slimmer, but hey I would still love to snuggle in and hear that growly, sensual voice in my ear...mmmmmm ...hope everyone excited by the new album and looking forward to some live boys.....Suz:heart:

Hi Rob, I'm not sure of how old you are, but losing weight after age forty is difficult. I think Bono looks healthy for a man of his age.

I don't usually run to Bono's defense but hell,
#1: I'd be so tired of getting my pic taken - I honestly feel bad for celebrities in this situation (not at an event or anything, just trying to relax) and
#2: Knowing how I look in a swim suit, I'm glad nobody's posting pic of me at the beach, berating my cottage cheese thighs or whatever (not that I have those :shifty: )

Yeah, I'm glad no one's taking pics of me in a swim suit either. The thought of such pics being all over the internet and people making snarky comments about my looks is

:uhoh:

But I guess it's part of being famous, sadly.

I don't even appear in a swim suit in front of my FAMILY if I can help it, much less have to worry about random a-holes taking my picture, posting it globally, and then opening fire on my looks.

It's "all part of being a celebrity," but it shouldn't be. He's not a swimsuit model. He's a singer. He never once proclaimed he looked great in a swimsuit (which, I think he and the missus do, kudos to them and ESPECIALLY her). If he was making an appearance at a beach/swimming related event then pictures of him in a swimsuit would be par for the course, and whatever criticisms fired should be expected. But the man can't even take a whiz without worrying whether someone in the men's room is going to snap a photo of him doing that. THAT is not "all part of being a celebrity," that is inhumane behaviour.

This tirade is not directed at anyone here, just my :twocents: on the whole subject of paparazzi.

And yes, I like new pictures of my faves as much as the next guy, but not when they make me feel dirty and like a thief for having seen them. If I was at the beach and saw Bono on vacation, would I take a picture of him? Maybe. But I would keep the pictures private for just my friends / family to see, not sell them or post them for people to globally gawk at him during what SHOULD be his private time.

Believe it or not, people in the public eye - rock gods or not - are still PEOPLE and want privacy. Some want it less than others, I agree - Bono is a camera whore - but I can guarantee he didn't want a picture of himself with his hand down his pants taken.

Again, not directed at anyone, just me complaining about a problem I despise.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled picspam.

I could decorate that soapbox for you if you want   (you know I'm joking, right?)

Absolutely. There has to be a difference between a celebrity person's public persona and his private life. Just because Bono likes to be in front of the camera when it comes to promoting his causes it doesn't mean that he has to be photographed everywhere he goes. It's not only him, but his family, his kids, I really think there should be limit. And I love to see the man as much as every fan out there. I feel he has been especially generous with fans when they turn up at the studio, at hotels, etc., but I really believe he should be allowed his privacy when he's with his family. From the pictures I'd say he's really enjoying the time they are spending together, especially with his kids, because they all know he'll be away a lot in the next months.

I agree with all of you saying that cellebrities are human beings and they deserve their privicy, not only Bono or other important artists, even those who are famous because of their scandals have the right to sell whatever part of their lives they want and reserve what they want for their own privicy. These pics are taken for the general public, not for the fans, altough we enjoy them too, and they are taken because people in general, pay to see the cellebrities private lives. But in this case I can only see a family man enjoying a good time with his family, I don't think his kids should be in the media, don't get me wrong, what I say is that after spying him continually all they can tell is that he's a good father, a good husband and a good friend, this is our Bono, who happens to be a great musician, singer and humanitarian too, he's not perfect, of course, but what have they (people in the media) done last week, for example?
