What's your take on Staring at the Sun?

For me this song is about spirituality. and finding yourself or your spirit in the most natural places, rather than materialistic wants or needs. I think its also about reflection. Bono would rather stare at the sun and is "happy to go blind" by the sun because he wants this time to reflect on himself and where he is in the world. Once again, I think this song has to do with rock stardom. Its not easy for the extreme popular rock star to reflect on themself and really dig deep inside with their most personal family/friends that are "stuck together with God's glue."
Overall, its about leaving all the materialistic jargon behind and relying on the spirit.
