Ok, is this a Biblical reference of some kind? Is there something in an important verse about mire?

Mire is basically mud. Head of heaven, fingers in the mire. Another contradiction that Bono likes to write. He's describing a girl who's mind is in the right place but is rooted in dirt. .02
