After Bono says "one..." at the end of One, he continues to say something until the end. I have looked on several lyric sites and have not found what he is saying. I think it osunds like high order, but that doesn't make sense. What is he saying at the very end of One? Thanks

I think that, like in the rest of the song, it's a struggle between hope and despair. Kind of ambigious ending - I'm not sure if it's supposed to be optimistic or not.

Now let's hope someone who'll answer this right LOL.

*edit* You're welcome.

I always thought it was something inconsequential, possibly a choked-off version of "Baby ... baby" and then those "Hiiiiiii-yaaaaaas," which look much sillier spelled out than they actually sound.

i agree with corianderstem. absolutely. this is my favorite part of the song. it has always sounded to me like the wailings of the agony that can sometimes come with love. and after all, this is not exactly a love song. it is filled with darkness and pain.
