I really like this song but have yet to find out what Bono is singing about. Someone once told me it was about lust. Can someone tell me what this song is about?

Well, a "Holy Joe" is a chaplain for the military. ie: A priest who travels into war with the soldiers.

Don't know if that helps. I'm stuck as far as what he's singing about, too.
