I was watching a documentary about Bob Marley the other night, and at one point there were some clips of a DJ in Jamaica playing one of Marley's songs and saying something like "Here he is Bob Marley, I and I.." and some other stuff. At another point in the show, I heard the phrase "I and I" again, but didn't really pick up what it really meant or how it related to Marley.

I'm wondering does "I and I in the sky" in Elevation have something to do with Marley or maybe Rastafari, or was brain really U2 addled that night, causing me to hear things? (possible also since they interviewed Chris Blackwell at one point) Anyone know?

The Congo's - Don't blame it on I

"Don't you blame it on I
Don't blame it on I and I
Don't you blame it on I
Don't blame it on RastafarI"

it is a rastafari thing
very common in reggae songs
