To be honest, I don't think it's German. I think it is supposed to sound German, but Bono is just shouting stuff.
Then again, maybe his accent just throws me of.

there some actual german words in there, i know that.. but i dont speak german (only know a tiny bit) so id have no idea about the rest of it. wish i did!

I've read in many places that these are Gaelic words that Bono is speaking. I'm sure there was a nice mix of things in his ramblings, though

I've never found a translation for this... that's a question I would like to ask him!
 
I'd say it's Gaelic, but I found this in a website:

"After the guitar solo (3:37-3:51), Bono sings a bit in a language that is not English. Most people assume it is in German, as some parts sound like "ich habe da, ich still hab"."
