Honestly, I think some songs are simply better with their snippets. Now, I prefer it when Bono varies what snippets he uses and there is at least some spontaneity to the selection, but songs like Bad, The Electric Co., Desire, and Exit feel lacking without at least some snippetry. Plus I admit to some personal bias in that when I'm checking the accuracy of setlists on U2gigs.com, snippets make my job a good deal more interesting!

Very good point, but if you took away the big numbers like Pride, Streets, One, etc you definately lose the beating heart of a U2 set. I love all the rarities and the album tracks but having them pop up now and then at U2 shows is where they're best enjoyed, if they dominated the set it'd be a hollow gig for me. Plus, arena gigs and all about the atmosphere and singalongs, and you're unlikely to get 60,000 people singing along to Exit. How little they know!

Altho I'm sure maggot will be able to sift thru them, people, cmon, stick with the format he asked for. He's playing in a tribute band, and there are three main formats that such bands can get away with:

(a) 1 Long show + encore (larger theatres and festivals)

(b) 2 X 10-12 song sets + 1 X 2-3 song encore (music halls or pubs where the owner is thinking clearly lol)

(c) 3 X 45 minute sets (used by greedy pub owners who want to use the band to milk every last beer purchase they can before last call)

the majority of most tribute band shows will fall firmly in category (b)
