Which bands would you like to open U2's next tour?

I understand that The Verve are on the verge of splitting up again, I hope it's not true.

Apparently they're not splitting up but not willing to sign multi album deals; apparently they just don't want to feel like they have to record several albums

Plus Ashcroft has a contractual obligation to record a new solo album

Elbow or Doves would be good. Wouldn't mind Editors though I've no idea how good they are live. Part of me would love to see Muse and U2 on the same night, but I think I'd just rather see Muse play a proper long set at their own show

i saw "kings of leon" open for u2(vertigo tour) and they were complete garbage live.
No doubt opened for them on the elevation tour and it was quite fun i must say.
i vote for metallica !

I guess that's possible the sound on that stage was way too bass heavy with the guitar nearly silent at times; or maybe they had an off night
