Maybe they'll buy Olympic to replace what will be the most bizarre and gaudy thing ever, their soon-to-be-studio-on-the-top-floors-of-that-building-that-keeps-getting-delayed.

Or they'll just have both. The roof studio will be to launch water balloons at fans waiting outside.

U2 To Buy Legendary London Studios?

U2 To Buy Legendary London Studios?
29 January 2009

An unnamed source has told The Sun that U2 are interested in placing an offer on London's Olympic Studios. The band recorded the final sessions for their forthcoming album, No Line On The Horizon, there last year and apparently became quite enamoured with the legendary studio that has played host to some of the biggest names in music history – Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones among them.

Olympic Studios was recently put on the market by international record label EMI. Now does seem like a good time for U2 to invest in the studio, since plans for their own "U2 Tower" in Dublin's Docklands, and the penthouse studio that was to go at the top of it, had to be postponed indefinitely at the end of last year because of the bloody recession smession.
