I think I've just had an orgasm. Don't need any porn tonight.
If U2 do not reissue Pop in 2017 with bonus material of early versions like these as well as other obscure outtakes... We gonna have a real problem

Yeah that's definitely a real thing solo.

Interesting to see how the POP songs sounds evolved from Vegas to a month later. The beginning of Mofo was completely changed, went from the drum beat to machine. Also, I liked the 70's porn style guitar riff in Gone that disappeared somewhere after Vegas.

The songs seemed more raw earlier on, then more polished electronic sounds took over.

I love the "final" live arrangement for "MOFO", but the one they played in the first concerts just gives me chills. I love both.
About "Gone", I'm one of the few that preferes the fragility of the album version and that thinks it got lost when translated live. But the early live versions almost nailed that tenderness with its imperfections and subtle differences with the later versions.

Exactly. It´s something I always missed about it live. They tried to make a rock beast, but i don´t think that´s what Gone is about initially.

Nonsense. Gone was always a rock song (by U2 standards anyway). It was a big improvement live.

that Popmart rehearsal of With Or Without You sounds really, really great. LOVE the way it really slowly emerges from that extended Velvet Dress outro.

Also that's not a slow Real Thing solo at the 1:47 mark, just the Velvet Dress one.

Oh man, that video was AWESOME!

Listen to that early version of Mofo!
That “I’m Not Your Baby” tune is dope!
That version of Playboy Mansion!

I find it sad history has not been kind to Pop. From fans to other musicians, it's a love it or hate it affair. I've always thought it was a masterpiece. Certainly their last great album lyrically.

I hope we get a 20th Anniv reissue of Pop.
