u2 best of 2000-2010

There are many fans who started listening to U2's music due to that kind of release.

Like me. My first ever U2 listen was the best of 80-90, and I remember falling in love with TUF

There ya go! Now, that leaves little to offer for the Best of 2010 - 2020, as I imagine they will probably only release 2 album in that timeframe of SOA or whatever.

Because U2's LiveNation contract expires in 2020, because they will be turning 60 that year, and because that's a nice, neat 40 years since BOY, I believe 2020 will be U2's final year.

The whole best-of projects of U2 is an artistic mistake imo. They should have come up with those collections when their carreer is over.

It's also weird to include two tracks on your best of 1990-2000 that do not origin from that decade (Hands that built....ough what a horrible song) and Electrical storm (great song imo!), while it misses a song like Please and Teh ground Beneath Her Feet. The latter shouldn't be included, cause it's a 2000-song, but so is Beautiful Day. Even more strange that Stuck is on there, while it was released as a single in 2001...Then why not Elevation and Walk On? Of course, to save them for future Best Of release...

Commercial decisions, and commercially a huge succes. especially the first
1980-1990 was quite a success with more than 11 million albums sold worldwide if I remember well. 1990-2000 and U218 sold much less, I have no idea about the numbers.

that's sharp!!! So technically they did not make a mistake in including Beatiful Day, Stuck on Best of 1990-2000.

However, what about Electrical Storm and The Hands that etc... ?
So they lied!!!

And Sweetest thing on 1980-1990? Ok, the B-side was allowed

'Electrical Storm' and 'The hands etc', 'Window in the Skies' and 'The Saints Are Coming' all on the best of 2000-2010, since they were all released in that time period...

We don't even know if there will be new best offs. The first two were only because they had to release two more albums under Island records to get rid of their contract.

if they hit such a creative burst ,like one that caused the delay that wasn"t welcome of NLOTH, then how about a double album this year? Didn't they claim to have written 60 songs or something like that? lets see 20 of em. Or a best of 00-10 as long as it has 5 new songs, and a SOA thats over 70 mins?. lol. Or how about rattle and hum 2? with odd live stuff from the 09 tour and albums worth of new tracks? lol.

Beautiful Day and Stuck I think will be included with 2 new songs. The second disc should be mainly live rare stuff instead of the rubbish remixes. I still dont get why u2 never put out a best of live cd.

Add this December's 'single' (if it actually gets released!) and a new track. There's enough material for a 2000-2010 best of.

Now would be the perfect time to release this beast. A Christmas season, a tour and almost two years between albums.

But looks like it won't happen. This version below is too 'rote' singles.

And doing something in chronological order is silly. U2 place higher premiums on continuity and artistic congruency that satisfying some collectors wet dream. I wish they kinda hadn't released 18 but it served its purpose as an introduction to younger fans. I think we still have to wait until the NLOTH material has to digest with them before we get this. Maybe in 2012.
