does anyone have any transcripts of the lyrics to Disappearing Act, there's a few lines i'm having trouble dicephering, beautiful song though

nice one! tho I think it's "your scent" as opposed to "your sin"? I could be wrong, and i think it's dog instead of doll-but the "something" ripped to shreds i'm really curious about!

I liked the one minute snippet we've heard before. I was a little bit underwhelmed when I heard the whole song for the first time. After a few listens it gets better and better though. It's definitely a grower in my book.

I've been listening to the song all afternoon, and I like it more and more... I wouldn't be surprised if I'm the person in the world who has, at this moment, listened to the song more than anyone else. :lol:
 
Listening to Disappearing Act right now. It almost could have been an awesome instrumental without the vocals. Definitely a grower. :hmm:

Can I just add that if Bono sings some of the SOA songs like he sings the verses on this song then I will die of joy. :drool:

I definately think he says "you think that you can love someone into love" the last time, cant hear it the first time though.

I think he means that she thinks that if you she loves someone enough they will love her back for showing it to them, when she actually cant. Either way, I love that line even if it isnt in the song!!!!

I also love the line "Alone, rather the river than your stepping stone"

Painter's dog would make more sense, though I don't know what a painters dog means?

yeah, im not saying it is definately that, but my ears are hearing that. People hear what they hear. I am sure about the "Your mind just ripped and it is torn to shreads"
 
It makes me very happy and very confident for songs of ascent given that the lyrics were largely written recently, as the vocal was recorded recently. They are in a great song writing place.

I am surprised a song this good was used on the bonus disc, why not put it on SOA? How many more songs like this have they got in the backlog?
 
A Sort Of Homecoming (Lion Sleeps Tonight Mix) = WHAT THE FUCK.
 
The Lanois mix of ASOH is odd, but I like it. I would never have fit on the album, though, so in the end I'm glad they went with the other mix (which I presume was Eno's).
 
I think THANK GOD THEY DIDN'T RELEASE IT AT THE TIME.

It's great ammunition for the "lulz eighties m00sic sux" cause.
 
Disappearing Act has an awkward chorus and naturally doesn't live up to any of the hype at all. It IS at least better than the other re-recorded songs from past remasters, but 2009 Bono has no business being on a UF remaster.

For the record, I agree 100% with Dan on Disappearing Act. And I love how Larry's drums sound on the ASOH Lanois mix.
