Typical U2 Hater List (feel free to add)

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I work with someone who calls Bono "Bonehead." :crack: He doesn't like U2 because every song sounds the same, the guitar sounds the same, and he doesn't like Bono's voice or his politics. :blahblah:

Dude has no clue wtf he's talking about, best just ignore I guess. He's trying to rile you up without a decent argument. You could call his arguments and he'd still refuse to believe you. It's like that with all the idiots who claim every U2 song sounds the same. Yeah, try explaining me how Lemon and Out of Control sound the same.

A new whopper to report!!

"I feel like Bono is magnanimous just to be magnanimous, I hate that guy."

:laugh::lmao::laugh::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Just roll on the floor laughing my fucking ass off! Apparently U2 haters are of the least bit intelligent. I would have laughed so hard in his FACE!!! WOW.

This just aggravates the hell out of me- the same people would never find fault with Britney Spears' bullshit.

Perfect example, what is most of the entertainment world concerning themselves with these days?
Celebrities throw support behind measure to legalize marijuana - Los Angeles Times

And Bono gets a beating from the general public, now more than ever it seems, for what he does??

I don't care what you think of Prop 19- I personally don't think weed should be legal, but there are good arguments on both sides- the fact that most celebrities would use their names and faces for legislation of a harmful drug and not for helping the less fortunate is pathetic.

PATHETIC!!!!!!

If anything, it shows Bono's down to earth qualities and shows his background and where he came from very well. He grew up in a place where poverty and violence were much more of a pressing issue than legalization of drugs. In fact, he's seen first hand what drugs do from a real person's perspective, not the pampered Hollywood perspective.

I completely agree with you there! All people care about today is getting all the drugs they can, having parties and getting into trouble, and having sex. Some even just whore out on their spouse and cheat on them. It's disgusting what people will do today. Those dumbass celebrities who keep getting in trouble for the same thing are just an embarrassment to look at (see Lindsay Lohan for example). Then take a good, long, hard look at Bono. He's not getting in trouble. He's going to HELP people. Doing good things. Yet people slag him off for this. It's a sick world I'll tell you, a sick world. People are only interested in that stupid celebrity gossip and shit.

But haters are gonna hate. And I'd be glad to let them hate. I don't care, because I don't have to hear it or look at it or read it or whatever. They're just missing out on all the good stuff.

Not as bad as people who have Radiohead as their faveourite band and dislike U2, that's scary

:crack: (BTW that smiley is not Thom Yorke, his left eye is the lazy one)

Oh alright then, it's Thom looking in a mirror. And he shaved his hair.

And btw I really love Radiohead (and of course LOVE U2). Great tunes and an amazing band. They don't churn out the same old stuff over and over again. Just sayin.

Ah, I'm not like that. I even like the music. I just cannot stand the whiny vocals. Can't say I care for the singer much in particular either..

Have fun loving them. Just see it as one less person to compete with for tickets. ;)

I think it's pretty weird to love U2 and hate Coldplay and vice versa because the music is pretty similar. But if you don't like the vocals then its possible of course.
I like Coldplay but a lot less than U2.

Perhaps, the well to do? England has always been very good at keeping people their "proper class." Just ask the Irish.

 A Stor hit the nail on the head with this comment. This is what I was going on about earlier when I mentioned that these haters tend to be left leaning types. The so called socialist elite. The type of people that hate how the internet and modern society has increased opportunities for ordinary folk like myself.

Would you believe it that I live in a small town where so much emphasis is put on what side of the bridge you live on? Council tax is double if you live on the right side of the river. I live on the left side of the river so I'm known as a pleb.

The Talksport radio DJ Mike Graham that it's typically socialist who want to ban anything that they don't like or disaprove of.

But like you said, why waste your energy hating someone you don't know? It's the exact same thing, why waste your energy talking about those who hate Bono for being a public figure? It's like the kid that posted here about some facebook hating on Bono. He kept replying to that facebook page and even got rude. How's that for wasting energy? If these people want to hate on him, just leave them be. If you ignore them, it's not gonna be funny anymore and most of them will start hating on something else. Haters gonna hate.

Good for him!

I don't know about you but I was brought up to defend myself and speak up for what I believe in. If someone hits you, you hit them back. If someone says something that's uncalled for, then all gloves are off, you say something back. Don't you ever stick up for yourself? Do you allow people to walk all over you?

More to the point, can anyone on here give me an example when Bono or anyone else in U2 has ever stood up for themselves when these cretins have said unkind words or do they just take it like a doormat? Maybe if Bono said something back to them for once then that would stop them.

You're confusing two little things here.

The situation you're talking about now is real life.

The bitching and complaining about the band is on the internet.

Those two things are very different and should be treated different. In real life, sure I defend myself and my friends. But on the internet? Every moron can say shit on the internet, and then never return again. there's NO point in arguing with someone over the internet when they say U2's shit. Because you're never going to change their mind, standing up for the band isn't solving anything. Nor do the band NEED us to defend them. They're rich rockstars who are loved by millions of people over the planet. Do you really think they give a rat's ass about some kids bitching them over the internet?

Ofcourse the boys aren't defending themselves, it's like throwing oil on a fire. If they would, the bitchers would get the attention they so desperately want. So you're only making it worse, it's like giving your dog a treat for whining for attention. If you ignore the whining, he'll stop eventually, if you treat it, you're rewarding bad behaviour and the dog will think that if he whines, he gets treats and keep doing it.

Psychology isn't that hard. It just requires a bit more thought than saying the first thing that comes into your mind.

And btw, I have to say that I've never ever been accused of not sticking up for myself. :lmao: It's like the world upside down all the way.

Well if he spoke out against every rumor or criticism said about him it would take 24 hours a day and he would never have time again to write or play. I mean just the shit on google chat boards would take 24 years from his life.

Part of growing up, especially in the limelight is that you come to realization that you can't pay attention to everything that is said about you, for if you do you give credance to those rumours or criticisms.

The Top 100 Annoying People Of The Year We Hate was a TV program. The BBC is supposedly a quality broadcaster. They are also known for being quite a left bias. Katy Brand's unfunny comedy sketch show did a sketch on the band saying that they are too old and that they should give up years ago (typical left opinion yet again). From watching her on there she appears to have the musical opinions of an immature 13 year old. I hate ageism. When I was 8 I first got into music through Michael Jackson. This was the early 90's. My mum told me all about the Jacksons in the 70's. She was a huge fan of The Beatles and Elton John. I always knew that great music didn't start and end with the under 25's.

Paul Whitehouse and Harry Enfield have said unkind things about Bono and The Edge also on their BBC TV program. In the Word magazine Hazel Davies proclaimed that she hated Bono because he was short and that he wears sunglasses. Yet another adult expressing their views in a respectable publication.

Ofcourse the boys aren't defending themselves, it's like throwing oil on a fire.
That's why Bono appears to be a very weak feable man in my eyes. The Gallagher brothers, Lilly Allen, Charlotte Church, Cheryl Cole, Boy George and Elton John always attack their critics.

Psychology isn't that hard. It just requires a bit more thought than saying the first thing that comes into your mind.
I love Psychology. I studied it as a minor at university. I collect psychology text books. Everywhere I look pop Psychology is rife in everyday culture, but I can spot Freudian pop psychology when I hear it. They are 7 different main strands of Psychology: Psychodynamic, Behaviorism, Social Psychology, Humanist, Cognitive, Biofeedback and Gestalt. I think all of them have a few relevant theories on human behavior but overall the theory I most adhere to is Cognitive Psychology. Biofeedback and Cognitive Psychology are regarded as the most scientific and academic.

You are wrong that Psychology is an easy subject BTW. That's a common misconception. The Pop psych books and worthless tests you see in magazines make it look easy but they are all completely worthless. They aren't real Psychology. If you ever come across a book on scoring Psychometric tests you should browse for it. When I was doing it at Uni I found the scoring to be a right bugger. Biofeedback is far from easy is because you have to learn about the human brain.

:lmao: Oh Bono is a VERY weak man I'm sure. Because he doesn't respond to bullies and people complaining.

Perhaps you should read your psychology books more often... you talk a load of bullshit you know? And you're far to obsessed with what other people think.

Well I'm a sensitive person. I can get hurt by unkind words. I can't help it.

Why do you say that what I said about Psychology was bullshit. I'm looking at a text book at the moment which talks about personality Psychology. There's a theory about Right Wing Authoritarian and Left Wing Authoritarian personalities. All I'm saying is that a lot of U2 haters tend to be left wing. U2 earn a lot of money. Money is a dirty word to the typical Marxist. (However, Karl Marx loved the money he received form his theories. Typical left wing hypocrite. I wonder what he thought of what the dire consequences that communism did in Russia if he was looking down?)

Then you need to get some spine and toughen up. Most people do this as they grow up..

Please state where I said that what you said about Psychology was bullshit? I didn't. All I said is that a lot of things you say are pretty bull. Sure, the whole left wing/right wing ideology you hold I think is bullshit, but I didn't realise you just copied that from some psychologist. Why would it even matter what political view U2 haters have? Why do you spend so much time even THINKING about them?

Don't mind if I intrude here for just a split second. I'm not trying to pick on anyone or opinions but...come on. Think about when you were in school. When someone picked on you and you stood up for yourself, it never really made a difference. Those people will pick on you no matter if you made them look like a fool or not. Once someone dislikes you, they dislike you. Nothing you can do about it. Critics are going to pick on Bono. It's a fact. Nothing you can say or do about it because that's what critics use celebrities for. And Bono is a good target more or less. He's smart, he's rich, he's bigger than the world itself and people are intimated by that. He's a rock star who sips tea with politicians. Not something you see everyday.

And like Galeongirl said, if Bono we're to strike back to all his "haters" so to speak, where would he have free time to do anything else? He might as well rent out FOX for a night and give one big long speech! Besides, Bono, and the rest of the guys for that matter, are BETTER THAN THE CRITICS. They don't NEED to sink as low as all those other people. They know that they can't please everyone, just like how we, the "normal" people, know that we can't please everyone. Even Gandhi had his critics.

And in my opinion, if Bono or Edge, Larry, Adam, took time out of their lives to "dis" their critics, I'd be angry! Because they would be going against everything they have taught us, the fans, and that's to be ourselves and dream out loud and "don't let the bastards drag you down". I think Bono has stood up for himself: in his music. No point in making a fool of yourself just because a journalists dislikes you because you're short, old, wear glasses, whatever. Bono knows that his fans adore him.

And as for this whole "left wing" thing, isn't that being a little judgmental? I'm surrounded by both republicans and democrats. I live in one of the most republican states in the US and I have yet to meet ONE person who agrees with Bono. But if I go back to Ohio, or New York, where a lot of democrats are, they LOVE Bono. On the other hand, I've met republicans who like Bono and democrats who hate him. I'm not saying that all democrats love Bono and all republicans hate Bono or vise versa. People are people. They will like who they like and they will hate who they hate. That's the world for you.

Sorry for the rant...

It isn't bullshit. I've read about right wing and left wing ideology in various text books.

I have emotional problems

Read what I said about what I've read about in Psychology text books. On Talksport they are called the socialist elite. Not every democrat is a left wing authoritarian.

So you read about it in books thus it's the truth?

Get real. there's so many books out there that are complete bullshit. So much fiction being passed off as real. You can't honestly think that everything that's written out there is real.

Maybe you should seek help. It sounds like you have co-dependancy issues. You confide far too much in other people's opinions, without checking their relevancy and whether they're truthfull or not.
Don't just accept everything you read. There's a load of crap out there. On the internet mostly, but also in books.
and the internet is NOWHERE near real life.

The internet is real life.

The sooner you realize this statement is false the better your real life will be...

This is not real life.

My face really doesn't look like  (it's much worse).

My real name is not BVS.

Real life isn't this light blue of a color.

You can't hold someone's hand over the internet. You can't tell their tone.

You can't impregnate someone over the internet.

I really don't debate all that much in real life.

Who really does this :cabbagepatch: in real life?
