Tour to kick off in Paris in May

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

I kind of want to believe this rumour. It might be true.

Just imagine the U2 band and their financial advisors talking,
They are the owners of some large and very expensive stage sets ever built.

They are still new and could be used again. So, looking
at the design of the "CLaw thing" from the 360º tour, an engineer could
change it a little bit and remove the center pieces, and place a large
volcano on top of the stage-set.
The round-tv screens could be improved on their design+function and now show
images in 3D and have some holographic projections!

Stage should be a house.

That idea has been done before.
By Aerosmith back in the late 1980s. I was there in the USA.
I think it was called the "Pump tour".

The stage was made up of a large city building, about 3 floors high, and
the band played on the roof.
The sides of the house (stage) had windows like a normal USA building ,
but once in a while some old lady came to the window
and started screaming for the band not to make so much noise while
they played on the roof
There was also another window with the shades
down and you only saw a silhouete of a girl slowly removing her clothes

So the house/building stage thing has been done already.

They should start the tour in some obscure place like Idaho or Montana.

Okay guys. I have a personal friend who works at Clear Channel Entertainment here in Toronto and I was told today that the reason why the tour has been pushed back is that the band feel they need extra time to rehearse the new songs and work out some of the kinks. They don't want a repeat of opening night of the '97PopMart Tour. There was also a delay with the video screens Willie Williams has adapted for this tour as they were ordered from Montreal, Quebec in Canada (the same company they used on the PopMart Tour). The tour has been pushed back and will begin in Las Vegas and not Los Angeles. Los Angeles will be played after Las Vegas. They are trying to re-schedule some of the shows that have been postponed to fit in the first leg but are having a difficult time re-booking the same arenas (due to the uncertainty of the NHL lockout) and most shows that have been postponed will be made up in the fall. The Toronto dates have been re-scheduled and Toronto will open the third leg of the Tour after a 2 week break from playing European Stadiums. As far as an "illness in the U2 family" my contact was not aware of this being a factor. The tour will be a General Admission Floor setup. No word on ticket prices. I think we have to look on the bright side of this. Would you rather line up outside on the east coast in March or September ?

:hmm:

See Rasta's post history and his last thread. He's a troll, plain and simple.

Hmmm......you might be right. Although Volcano would be a cool tour name, I would think "The Miracle tour" has a better ring to it.

Legit or not...I like it...Volcano tour...The Edge is ON FIRE!

I'd put money on it.

Bono did say during a radio interview that they wouldn't start the tour till May. They usually like to play in Europe in the summer time. Therefore I had already projected that they wouldn't make it to the US till next Fall.

That's my 2 cents, and I'm stickin' to it.

:sexywink:

I seriously doubt that the tour is gonna be called the Volcano tour and even more doubt that the stage will be shaped like a volcano! lmao!
