i just can't get over the fact that so many people think any song from nloth - including boots - can somehow be worse than wild honey.

i know it's all opinion, but....wow.

yes it is opinion... in my opinion, wild honey is a cool song.

these threads are annoying because you are bound to be offended. i know it's just for fun, but why create negative energy in something as positive as a forum devoted to the great music of U2?

One nice thing about U2's non-prolific recordings is that there's very little flab on the bones of their major releases. This means that there aren't many album tracks or A-sides that suck. In fact, there are almost none. There are some mediocre ones. But of course then there's the B-sides... are we allowed to count those? Anyway, here are the tracks I don't like, in order:

1980s:

Touch ("T-t-touching you... Brtrtrtrtrtrrtrt!" Er...what?)
Shadows And Tall Trees (not that bad, but pretty bad... the lyrics are terrible and the melody average)
J. Swallow (the most boring U2 song ever?)
Is That All? (Listening to this song doesn't make me HA-PYYYY!)
Treasure (Whatever Happened To Pete The Chop) (sounds like Bono is having a hernia as he sings)
Red Light (just not interesting at all!)
All Along The Watchtower (live) (not too-too bad, but this rough first run-through sounds...well, rough, and Bono's inability to get the lyrics right -- as ever -- grates on me)
Pride (live) (Don't like this at all -- especially the guitar, which sounds thin and wimpy... it just pales so much compared to the studio track, you wonder why they bothered)

1990s:

Fortunate Son (the worst U2-cover ever?)
Miss Sarajevo (U2 part = great, Pavarotti part = horrible. God, I hate operatic singing)
Elvis Ate America ("Ooh! Ooh!" + bad lyrics)
Mofo (not a bad song, but doesn't come alive on the album)
Miami (in which Bono's "traveling salesmen/Gavin Friday-wannabe" pretensions get the better of him)

2000s:

Big Girls Are Best (can't remember this well as I don't have it anymore, but I seem to remember it was bad)
One Step Closer (you could do a lot worse than this, but something about it is too Orprah Winfrey/album-filler for me)
I'll Go Crazy if I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (melody = good; lyrics and arrangement = absolutely awful -- the worst ever?)
Breathe (he wasn't going to buy just anyone's cockatoo! Just don't like the lyrics or vocals at all -- to the point where they ruin the song for me)
Winter (has this even been officially released yet? Anyway, it turns me off)
