I completely have no idea why people consider it one of the best of the decade. Really. I just don't get the appeal of the song, it's mediocre to me at least, nothing special. The fact that they keep playing it every night made me loathe it. What's so great about it?

I love the song for the reasons i already mentioned...it just jells to me as a nice little pop song with some depth. I can relate to the sentiment throughout as well.

I can't tell you why others consider it a great song--music moves people in different ways. All I know is the song seems to have a pretty broad appeal so it must connect in some way.

Idk, I always remember it as the whole Joey Ramone song, so it's got double power in my mind.

Same here. For me as The Ramones fan it's 'The Joey Ramone song' because it's the last song that Joey has heard before his death.

Goodness, one of my favorite songs of all time.

According to this, a 14 song Best of 2000-2010 would look like:

1. Moment of Surrender
2. No Line On The Horizon
3. Magnificent
4. City Of Blinding Lights
5. Kite
6. Walk On
7. The Ground Beneath Her Feet
8. In A Little While
9. Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of
10. Vertigo
11. Fez - Being Born
12. Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
13. Mercy
14. Unknown Caller

ATYCLB - 4 (in addition to the 2 tracks on Best Of 1990-2000)
HTDAAB - 3
NLOTH - 5
non-album - 2

By the way, is it just me or has All That You Can't Leave Behind's profile risen again? Bono went as far as to call it their third best recently and it did get a lot of play on the current tour. The album was first met with rave reviews from critics and fans, then the fans (particularly Interferencers), began tiring of it and calling it one of their worst. Now, it seems to earn a lot of positive responses, especially for tracks like "Stuck In A Moment" and "In A Little While" that seemed to have been loathed around here for the better part of the decade. Interesting.
