Stop (The Poverty) doesn't deserve to be on this list. It's really a grower, I feel like you just haven't given it a fair chance.

SUC and WH are both lyrical disasters.
ABOY is fine by me.
4th of July doesn't even count as a song.
The Refugee... hmmm... I can actually quite enjoy this one some days.

But I respect your opinion.

Yeah true, there's a number of b-sides that would have sat nicely on TUF, such as the ones that you mention, plus Three Sunrises and Boomerang 2.

I don't like Stop (The Poverty) either. Not all countries are in poverty, so why would the poverty need to be stopped there? Why would they sing this song? It's just not a universal message.

I don't think Bono understands the breadth of my wealth and success.

I agree that both of those are better than 4th of July...but that doesn't mean 4th of July is bad.

I'd substitute Bass Trap for 4th...but not Love Come Tumbling (or Three Sunrises for that matter). Even though it's a better "song" than 4th, TUF needs an instrumental there.

On SUC those lyrics are difficult to listen to. There is a difference between taking the piss out of yourself in a clever way and a cringe worthy manner. This definitely sits in the latter with me.

It's a shame cause I actually don't mind the song musically even if it doesn't sit well with the album.

Actually, that reminds me of a project I wanted to get to around here...it would be great if we had a comprehensive list of U2 songs since there doesn't seem to be a perfect one around the web...

Every Official Studio Track By Title
Every Official Studio Track By Release Date

Every Officially Released Live Cut By Title
Every Officially Released Live Cut By Recording Date
Every Officially Released Live Cut By Release Date

Every Officially Released Remix By Title
Every Officially Released Remix By Release Date

Every Side-Project Track By Song Title
Every Side-Project Track By Release Date

Every Unofficially Released (i.e. Bootleg) U2 Studio Recording By Title
Every Unofficially Released (i.e. Bootleg) U2 Studio Recording By Presumed Recording Era

Obviously, the Title and Release Date lists would be grouped together so you could read down from one to the next. Live cuts could all have the recording dates attached to them which would then remove the need for the Recording Date list.

It really would be a big help if we accomplished this around here and would be a great way for some of us to sort our libraries a bit better.

Any interest in this? It would make for a real handy cheat sheet.
