What on earth could Pitbull offer to fill a whole album, much less a compilation album?

Anyways, I'll get started on one of these myself. But There's no need to necessarily make it 'every last U2 hit in one collection'.

If there is a best of from this decade (hopefully not) it would include from ATYCLB Elevation, Walk on and possibly Kite and IALW. BD and Stuck were already on Best of 1990-2000, though I wouldn't put it past U2 to put those on the Best of 2000-2010 also. Such a compilation would be stupid, as U218 pretty much cancels out the other 2 Best ofs, and they've only released NLOTH since then, which didn't include any "HITS" anyway.

They could absolutely create a Best of 2000-2010. There's definitely enough material, and it would be unfair to not include ATYCLB. Think about it... Best of 1990-2000 included the year 1990 in the title, and the previous Best of was 1980-1990. Keep uniformity in the titling and this one is 2000-2010. Can't punish them for having an album that came out in 2000. I mean... it's just as 2000 when you look at it either way.

They could easily just choose any combination of the first 3-5 tracks from ATYCLB, Vertigo, SYCMIOYO, COBL, Perhaps OOTS or Miracle Drug, and then Magnificent, Crazy, MoS, Boots, and perhaps one of NLOTH or Unknown Caller... and of course the opportunity to stick an album version of something like BFFTS or North Star as a 'new release', or perhaps a new release or two in itself.

I mean, obviously if they included that all on disc 1 that'd be a bit of a mess, but that's 18-20 songs where 4 or 5 can easily be cut off. Not to mention... songs like 'The First Time' made it onto previous Best Of's... and while I like the song it's certainly not a hit from U2.

Saying NLOTH didn't contain any hits is silly too. Regardless, the Best Of series hasn't necessarily been based on 'hits'. It's about 3/4 being popular songs and 1/4 being other stuff (not including the b-sides).

Four discs seems a bit much but I'm pretty sure it covers the essentials.
 
Actually, in all honesty, I'd probably have a 4 disc set too. The first three discs would be all songs off of albums/single versions of songs and the fourth disc would be their most essential B-Sides and live tracks.

It's strange, looking at most of the songs I've chosen that they didn't actually write that many of them. Still, they'll always remain my 63rd favourtie band of all time behind INXS (but just ahead of Men Without Hats).

Disc two would likely need to include some single edits. Zooropa and Discotheque in particular would make great candidates. Edits also exist of Your Blue Room, Walk On, City of Blinding Lights and Magnificent.

Personally, I feel that the single mixes of songs such as Where The Streets Have No Name and Please improve greatly on the originals, so it would probably be best to go in that direction when given the opportunity.
