Mark reminded of this 2008 article on facebook, I think there will be quite a few heavy hearts in the U2 camp today...she was quite integrated into the band`s early life and made it a point to attend their shows and try and travel with the occasionally. What a supportive mum! I loved how, while they would have liked to see him attend college, they figured they`d let him `give the band a go` for a bit and see where it took them.

Very sorry to hear of Edge's loss. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. And if I may, I'd just like to say Thank You to Mrs. Evans for what she gave the world.

RIP... how many U2 parents are still alive ?

Edge's and Larry's father, and Adam's father ?

That's really sad news. :( I always thought she sounded like such a nice lady, based on what I've read about her. Condolences to the Evans family.

I just lost my mother on Tuesday so I know how The Edge must be feeling. Maybe we'll get an Edge sung song about his mother on the next record.
