 Mick Jager or even Bob Dylan better singers than... well I'm gonna say Bono, but I should say most of the people on that list below them

I hate these lists, they mean shit all. How are Bob Dylan, John Lennon and Johnny Cash classed as higher than Bono or Jeff Buckley, such a joke. And where the hell is Liam Gallagher?? Circa 1995-1997 he had one of the best rock voices of all time in my opinion.

Yeah, this list clearly isn't entirely based on quality of voice. But it's Rolling Stone, it's kinda fun, take it or leave it, no need to get your panties in a bunch.

I also think, having written the above sentence after skimming the list but before reading Bono's write-up, that Bono did an excellent job of making the case for Dylan.

the facts that eddie vedder is not on the list and morrissey is buried at 92 removes any hint of credibility from this list.

Ok, there where alot of good singers on this list.

But wheres David Coverdale? Tom Jones?

Don't get me wrong, I am not a guy who like cheesey music, but Micheal Bolton may not write and sing the most deep things. But he got a voice

On behalf of Axver, who probably won't bother with this thread:

Where the fuck is Steven Wilson??? Americans let me down once again. UGH. I need to do some railfanning, but I should probably go to Uni...eh...I'll just stay here. Fuck Rolling Stone.

No Eddie Vedder... *flushes list down the toilet*

:sexywink:

Get the plunger...it's quite the load!

Maybe Eddie gets to keep some punk cred by not making this list. I think he gets unfairly stereotyped as just being a howler. When he slows it down, his voice is simply golden and truly something special--completely infused with character and originality.

WHERE IS JAMES BLUNT?

Armstrong did a nice write-up for Bono.

But the list itself is kind of crappy.

I like that Aretha made #1, but there is no way the technically gifted but completely souless Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston should have been chosen when Billie Holiday was left out. I think Ozzy Osbourne should have been on the list too. And no love for Ann Wilson? Joan Jett? Eddie Vedder? And as someone posted earlier, how do Freddie Mercury and Roy Orbison not make the Top 10?
