Seriously, I remember there were discussions about a live survivor a few years ago but the idea died because of just how hard it would be to do - different versions, not everybody knowing or having access to every version, what to include/exclude, bla bla bla. Just seemed like it'd be a total clusterfuck to run.

It think those who believe the upcoming U2 academic conference is a good idea should turn EYKIW into a quasi-classroom, wherein the more cerebral among us can explain the religious, social and geo-political ramifications of U2's music to the less enlightened in a safe, secure environment where the learning process is facilitated.

Then, and only then, can a true understanding of Bono's lyrics may be gleaned, and then, and only then, can U2's music truly be appreciated.

Let's start by analysing one of U2's more esoteric, and misunderstood, philosophical lyrics:

"Always wear your safety belt".

just gonna say...whatever kind of poll or survivor series you guys decide on doing, if it isn't ultimately about u2, it'll need to be in a more appropriate forum. an interference thread survivor wouldn't go in here.

Aaaaaand the point is to revive the wasteland of EYKIW. So now we're back to nothing.
