From the way I read it, Hogg was tweeting while listening to U2 - With Or Without You, Sometimes You Can't Make It on Your Own, and One - and U2 tweeted back with the lyrics to Love is Bigger.

What's neat is to follow the replies and see followers, many of them relatively young for U2 fans, dig up older U2 lyrics that fit this cause perfectly - and somehow 'Crazy Tonight' showed up and didn't seem out of place:
