MTV's Top Ten U2 List Sucks Beyond Compare

Half of my top ten U2 songs are from the 2000s, I just think those suck really bad.

Wow which ones?

A couple of days ago, MTV aired a special showing the top 10 U2 songs. I found this list online today on the @U2 forum and couldn't believe what I read. Here's the list.

10-Elevation
9 -Vertigo
8 -Stuck in a moment
7 -Discotheque
6 - Sweetest thing
5 - City of blinding lights
4 -Beautiful day
3 -One ( with Mary J!!)
2 -The Saints Are Coming
1 -WIndow in the skies

I have just one question. Is everyone at MTV incredibly high? Or are they just all stupid beyond comparison? I mean, really. Nothing from the 80s?!! Nothing from Achtung Baby except from MJB's version of One?

There is no hope left for MTV.

If they were just ranking the videos, I think they got it right with #1 and #2. The Saints Are Coming and Window in the Skies are not only the best u2 videos but are two of the best videos ever made. Especiially Window in the Skies. Both versions of that video are just magnificant. Beautiful Day is also a great video. but One (with Mary J!!) is definitely out of left field.

But yeah, that list sucks more than a Hoover in a brothel. I could almost - ALMOST - understand it if they were just ranking videos rather than songs, but if that's the case, the lack of EBTTRT and Stay is ridiculous.

They just have to air something, they pick up a couple of videos they have and, hopp, there's a list! Wow!

I am just happy something from Pop made the list. These are all based off of popularity, but as I said, it's one of the better lists I have seen since it includes something from Pop.

The list is a little crazy, and yes Bono has a tendency to get excited about new songs, but just for the record, when Window in the Skies was released, Bono said "it might well be our best song ever."

MTV just tries to give people who don't know U2 an introduction to the band. These are the most recent singles of U2. Only Discotheque is a strange choice.

I would say that these are their best videos (except for the MJB "One" video), but not their best songs.
