Yeah, I bet no one saw that coming. :D

you put UC before MOS?????1

Yeah, I like the flow from Magnificent>UC better.. and I put Breathe a few slots up since it fits more with Crazy Tonight and SUC than with the slower songs(WAS, Cedars) and the epicness that is Fez-BB.

I'm still a bit doubtful, maybe I could switch around Boots and SUC too, as Boots has a nice way of going into breathe. And it would require Boots to have the extended intro, ofcourse.

edit: on your ZooPassengers playlist, i added Slug before YBR just because i love the song and transition into YBR so much.

We could hold sway over the minds of the masses. With our power, we could finally convince U2 that Pop is unfinished. That they should drop all of their fruitful creative ventures in order to spend three years remixing it in the south of France.

....Maybe this is a bad idea.

lol, yeah, we'll get more "Best Of Discotheque" mixes.

I want a version that's 100% boomcha. I've got the fever, and the only cure is more boomcha.

Come to think of it, that gives me a cartoon idea. :hmm: But I think mocking New Discotheque (very much like New Coke) went out of style 7 years ago.

here's a tracklisting for an expanded Joshua Tree album that I've found works the best. In my opinion anyway.

I have put a mark to show where (if you think that way) each side of non-existent vinyl could start/finish. I'd never thought that way before as I'd burnt them to CDs but I do think when they're split into 4 sides, each one still holds its own pretty well. The songs seem to fit together.

Give it a go sometime see what you make of it :)

DISC ONE-
1. Where the Streets Have No Name
2. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
3. With or Without You
4. Walk to the Water
-
5. Trip Through Your Wires
6. Luminous Times (Hold on to Love)
7. Race Against Time
8. Red Hill Mining Town

DISC TWO-
1. Spanish Eyes
2. In God's Country
3. Sweetest Thing
4. Bullet the Blue Sky
5. Running to Stand Still
-
6. Deep in the Heart
7. One Tree Hill
8. Exit
9. Silver and Gold
10. Mothers of the Disappeared

I have few personal compilations that I really would like to share because I like them as much as regular albums so maybe some of you could also find them interesting. This is probably a good place to post them.

First here is my logic behind them: I have tried to make these compilations to really sound like regular U2 albums by following some of the "rules" they (and many other bands) are using to make the tracklisting of their albums. These rules are:
- The album has to be divided in two parts of 5 or 6 songs.
- The first song of each of these parts is preferably a rock song
- The third song of the album is often a ballad and always one of the strongest songs of the album if not the strongest one.
- The 4th song is a very unique and original song
- The last song of the first half is a ballad.
- The last song of the album is a very quiet and/or meditative ballad.
- The first half of the album has almost all the biggest "hits"/strongest songs.
- The song before the closing one is one of the best songs and is quite different from the rest of the album.
You can check these rules with almost all the existing U2 albums: I’m confident that the rules they follow to make their tracklistings. Of course there are some counter examples but these are just exceptions that are made in order to make it a little less predictable which is also a good thing. I have so tried to follow these rules but not too strictly. Of course the flow of the album and the transitions between the songs have also to be smooth too.

First here is my favourite tracklisting of studio only songs from R&H that I have already posted on a previous thread:

01 - Hawkmoon 269
02 - Desire > A big tune just after the more confidential H269 and before Heartland/GPII is clearly required and Desire fits quite well here.
03 - Heartland
04 - God Part II
05 - A Room At The Heartbreak Hotel > Great b-sides that I think deserves to be added. Fits well here: makes a good transition between GP2 and AIWIY
06 - All I Want Is You > Great to conclude the first part of the album. Personally I prefer the 4'17 edit version, the album version has a way too long ending imo. The 4' version is not perfect but is still better especially for a 6th song.
07 - Silver and Gold > Studio version not the album/live version of course. That’s a good opener for the second part of the album.
08 - Angel Of Harlem
09 - Van Diemen's Land > For this one I think it's absolutely necessary to cut the crowd noise at the beginning and of course the interview at the end with a software like audacity.
10 - When Love Comes To Town
11 - Love Rescue Me > I was not a big fan of this one before but I think it works really well as a closing song. That makes me like it a lot more.

To be continued...
