Okay, but does Unforgettable Fire get in bed with Rattle & Hum? You see, now we've got triplets missing one.

I also thought about it.

Very long actually. Making schemes on several sheets and long discussions with my girlfriend we came up with this:

side 1:

1. "Zoo Station"
2. "Even Better Than the Real Thing"
3. "One"
4. "Until the End of the World"
5. "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses"
6. "So Cruel"
7. "The Fly"
8. "Mysterious Ways"
9. "Tryin' to Throw Your Arms Around the World"
10. "Ultraviolet (Light My Way)"
11. "Acrobat"
12. "Love Is Blindness"

side 2:

1. "Zooropa"
2. "Babyface"
3. "Numb"
4. "Lemon"
5. "Stay (Faraway, So Close!)"
6. "Daddy's Gonna Pay for Your Crashed Car"
7. "Some Days Are Better Than Others"
8. "The First Time"
9. "Dirty Day"
10. "The Wanderer"

I don't think the albums sound all that great meshed together though. Zooropassengers is a better combination.

This! To my ears, Zooropa was the beginning of a crisper kind of sound for U2. What I mean by that is (and I'm really searching for the right words here), from Boy through Achtung Baby the band's records were very reverb-heavy, especially when it came to Bono's vocals and Larry's drums. The first seven albums all sound like they were recorded in very large, echoey spaces. I feel Zooropa was their first album to really break this tradition. Bono's voice is more up front in the mix and has a much dryer sound, and the music overall just has a sharper-edged kind of quality sonically. To me, this is one of the main reasons why, while Achtung Baby and Zooropa were recorded so close together, the two albums just don't mix very well when you combine them. IMO, Zooropa and Passengers is a much better fit. You could slip tracks like Slug, Your Blue Room, Miss Sarajevo, or maybe even Theme from Let's Go Native onto Zooropa and it would still sound very cohesive.

It is interesting that the U2 albums seem to almost fit into 'twos', isn't it?

Boy / October
War/ Unforgettable Fire
Joshua Tree / Rattle & Hum
Achtung / Zooropa
Pop / ?
ATYCLB / HTDAAB
No Line... / 2010 LP?

Pop kind of stands out, though. It doesn't really seem to have an evil twin. It's a twinless twin, like Elvis. No wonder U2 hate it.

War/TUF is about as much of a stretch as Pop/ATYCLB.

my album would have consisted of all the singles + all the bsides from their respective albums + love is blindness as a hidden track

bring back the hidden track as part of the album experience.

i was actually thinking of starting another thread linking Passengers/Pop, lol!

Well I agree that Pop would be Passenger's Evil Twin.

Boy / October
War/ Unforgettable Fire
Joshua Tree / Rattle & Hum
Achtung / Zooropa
Passengers/Pop
ATYCLB / HTDAAB
No Line... / 2010 LP?

I see War and Unforgettable Fire as non-identical twins. And Wide Awake in America is UF's bastard love-child.

See my list is like the above cause I would want it starting out a mix of hardcore (ish) U2, comin at ya all wild and shit…….and moving immediately into the slower/calmer sound of them, so you end the CD listening to a nice fade of relaxation. Get me? :D

if it was still on cassette, you would turn over and One would start.
