I consider Bono in 2010/2011 a brand new person...

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

His 2010/2011 glasses are fucking horrendous. In fact, all of his sunglasses have been awful except for the more plain ones he wore during Vertigo, which I tolerate.

I fu**ing love those glasses :grumpy:

Seriously, I think they look super cool and badass and fit Bionic Bono perfectly.

also, viagra does wonders outside of bed.

Wow, we are really going there?

I'll admit that watching the Rose Bowl DVD and when I saw them in 2009 - the magic didn't feel all there. I thought it was me. Maybe it was both of us. When he talks about his back - he made it sound like it was always bothering him a little. Edge made it sound like he was in pain a lot. And we know back pain can make you cranky *cough Larry cough*

I watched a bit of the Rose Bowl for the first time since it came out the other day.. it completely lacked soul and was stacked with too many cringey bits. However I could watch any of the 2010/11 shows on youtube over and over again. I was at Paris and some Oz shows post-Bono-op and the shows had a looseness and spontaneity that blew away the earlier legs. The only minor let down was Glasto..

I dunno about renewed confidence, but I maintain that Bono was drunk off his ass in Chicago last summer. Particularly awful dancing, go-nowhere ramblings...he was so out of it he forgot what country he was in and had the band play One Tree Hill!

But yeah, from what I can tell, the Germans definitely reignited his pilot light while he was in the shop.

It owed a lot to the set list, I think, but Edge and especially Bono seemed almost like something was bothering them the entire !

The stress of Broadway calling? Adamie has been the constant of happiness throughout 360! (questionable dress sense notwithstanding)

And no American called Rick could have that lilting or mesmerizing an accent. Back on topic, I missed the earlier 360 UTEOTW Bono schtick where he would sing the verses while bothering the rest of the band. This was 2009?

I don't agree about the 2009 shows. I know it's quite easy to conclude that something was bothering Bono back then because he obviously became so much better after his surgery, but I can't remember ever feeling that way when I saw them in 2009 and I did see some shows. I loved the 2009 leg, everything was still very fresh, the set was great, it was very exciting. Of course the band was just getting into it, especially for the first couple of shows, but they didn't seem "bothered" to me. Just because the 2010/11 legs were so great, that doesn't mean that we should over-analyze the first year of the tour and interpreting stuff that isn't there. That's just my feeling, I still have fond memories of the 2009 concerts and I wouldn't say Bono was "bothered". I'm sure all of them had good and bad days throughout the tour.

One thing I missed in 2010 was Bono taking his glasses off for Moment Of Surrender like he did in 2009. That, to me, was very special, I'll never forget it.

The Fly look is rather easy. Leather pants, leather jacket with black t-shirt, big dark sunglasses and high heeled black boots. Voila.

Yeah and the Terminator look is just as easy to see. Absolutely! I don't think Bono as the Terminator is such a big stretch to make as possible inspiration.

He even has the same haircut.

Love those two pictures for comparison

When is the next Terminator movie due? Maybe the producers should consider Bono to play the role instead of Arnie? :hmm:

I consider that he got a little funnier too. He probably realized how weak and vulnerable we are that just a simple injury can end our lives very quickly, as a result he maybe now takes into consideration the fact to laugh and play more and harder since we all die in the end.

Just a thought.

Blah blah blah. I'm trying to recall that track called Another Time Another Place. How does it go? Der-der-der-do? or di-da-di-da-di-dooo?

I honestly don't care whether the man plugged it up or not, but when I see that bit of bald spot, it makes me think he didn't get them, because why get them and not cover up all the balding bits?

What bald spot? there isn't one. That's the whole point. I reckon he has been taking steroids on and off over a few years. Why? Because he can and it helps mask pain so he can continue to proclaim that he 'doesn't feel physical pain'. What do you think when he says that? :lmao::lmao::lmao:Hilarious, just like his back surgery which was not planned at all . I was manic with laughter with that news. As if we fall fall for that one. Is there something with his nerves or something?

And that picture off the back of his head is his crown, everyone has parting/crown. That's how you tell real hair from wigs (and didn't I read somewhere that he has a double crown which is why he has that distinctive line on his hair line?). And of course his hair hasn't got thicker in recent years, because he's kept it short. How can hair get thicker if it's being buzzed off regularly? But now he's grown it a bit it does look thicker. Plus dying it black makes thinning hair look worse (check out David Gest). I've checked out many recent pictures/video's of him on PLEBA and the web and I can spot anything receding.

You should definitely write a book. So much fantasy shouldn't go to waste.

I'd buy it. For sure.

And for the record, thickness of hair has nothing to do with the length, nor with shaving it. It just SEEMS that shaving, say, the legs, or jaw, brings the hairs back thicker, but it's not. You just cut the hairs off at the bottom, and they grow back from there. So the new hair grows at the thickness it was, which is exactly as thick as the previous hair was in the bottom.
So Bono's hair buzzing has very little to do with the fact that he's got quite a head full of hair.

thank you. not even getting into this bono's hair business, i can't stand when people say if you start shaving it'll grow back thicker. uh no. i've shaved my legs for over half my life, if i stopped tomorrow i wouldn't look like a wooly mammoth. my legs would, in time, look like how they would if i'd never shaved in the first place.
