I knew the riff from GOYB was familiar to me (being a musical genuis). U2 have used it before! SHOCKER!!!
Its the bass riff from With a Shout off the October album. Dont believe me....check out this vid, the bass riff after the first verse at about 1:10

Not quite. It's similar, but the notes are different, especially toward the end of the riff.

Listen closely to the drums on the intro, it's only slightly different from Vertigo's intro.
