Ok..so I did a search and found in the archives there was an old thread buried about showing off I mean displaying your U2 shrine.

Seeing Edge at the Toronto Film Festival has me very giddy again and brought back memories of touring.

I used to have a ton of my U2 stuff in boxes. When I moved to my previous place I had only a few things on display. But then my collection started to grow.

Luckily, prior to moving in with my girlfriend (now wife), we agreed upon a room in the house. We call the room the music room not only because of my U2 display, but I also keep my DJ decks, bass guitar, and guitars in that room.

Anyway.....please please please....if you have a cool item or display....POST IT! Let's see your U2 gear!

Dude, that is damned impressive! As one Canuck to another, let me congratulate you on (a) having that unbelievable collection, and (b) having a wife who tolerates it!

How in the world did you get that copy of 'U2:3' ???

Ah...The U2:3 is a copy....a recent reissue...not an original.. In fact...I got it off of ebay. Here's a closer look. It came with a separate card that says 80/100.....

I'm unsure but I think they reissued them in 4 different colours.

My vinyl is PINK!

I also just realized that I did not include my Joshua Tree Deluxe Box set in the shrine as I was watching it recently. But we all know what that looks like :)

DAMN that is impressive. i love it. i've no desire to ever meet the band so i will never have any signed memorabilia, but as a vinyl collector, i love all the records you have! i only have a fraction of what you do, but one day...

There are some gems that I still desire in my collection. If you are looking to part with these items please let me know.

I'm looking for Passengers and Atomic Bomb on vinyl. I'm also looking for the War Tour concert program (not the one the folds out into a poster).

If you have a price PM me.

It's pretty impressive, but where's a slice of the moon? :(

Sad Punk? What do you mean by the slice of the moon?

Slice of the Moon - what a good name for the next Album

or a related single of the Album....

All I could see was a slice of the Moon
As I looked up at the sky after she broke my heart.
It looked like a big sliver spoon..
as I went back to my room..
full of gloom....

Hang on!

Someone else tried rhyming moon and spoon once before.

^ Yeah, I was wondering that, too. I'd gladly give away my U2 collection if I could meet them instead.

I don't know if I could go that far. I've poured a shitload into my collection (which is pathetic compared to this bloke's, lol) and I wouldn't trade it for a fleeting meeting and greeting.

I suppose it's a never-meet-your-heroes type scenario

In case they let you down? :(

I'd like to meet them definitely, but I don't think I'll die a shattered man if I never do

Wow - that is impressive!

My stuff is all over my house, and not organized at all. I don't have the space to make something like that, but I want to have everything all in one organized space or container. Maybe that will be a project for this fall. :hmm:

damn impressive!
when i get a house with more than one room one day, i'm going to have a shrine! god knows i have enough of the stuff (half of it is in boxes :grumpy: )

just one thought though (and i hate to be a bummer on this) but i think your u2-3 is a bootleg. there were various colour versions originally but no re-issues as far as I'm aware
check out --> U2 Discography Site <-- for more info and feel free to correct me if i'm wrong (i'll then go scouring ebay for my own one!)

what a cool collection though - the personal stuff rocks, all those signed photos.
awesome!

can i ask why you don't want to meet them?
i can't really pinpoint it. i've just no desire to. i guess i just don't want to be one of 1,000 standing to try to get my hand shaken. i like meeting smaller bands who can take the time to chat, etc.

I suppose it's a never-meet-your-heroes type scenario, but I didn't think U2 were Khan's heroes!

Oh by no means do I think it's legit. At the same time, wouldn't it be difficult to bootleg a vinyl record? (Cds and tapes would be easy).

I got it off of ebay......it wasn't expensive. Looked like the real thing....but by no means is it an original pressing.

My other DJ friends have a Dynacord sound system which we DJ from. I plan to give it a spin soon on a technics 1200 turntable and see how it sounds.

I need to go to U2 Anonymous:

Totals: 1 LP, ~2000 cds (mainly concert cds), ~19000 mp3, 521 vhs/dvd/mpeg/rm/wmv files, 56 books/programs/magazines, 26 posters, 31 patches, IPOD

:hyper::hyper::hyper::huh::huh::huh:
