I don't know if this has already been posted somewhere on the forum or if anyone here has already read the NME article, but apparently Glasvegas are doing a U2 cover. Guitarist Rab Allan has talked about it in an interview:

He also revealed that the band would be recording a U2 cover this week for a special reissue of the band's classic album 'Achtung Baby'

The NME article can be found here:

Glasvegas: 'There's no need for us to have a label right now' - video | News | NME.COM

Makes you wonder if there will be a special CD with U2 cover versions by other artists included in one of the uber uber uber super deluxe sets of the AB reissue/remaster.

Maybe it's already discussed here, but I'm not really up to date as far as the final contents of the various packages are concerned.

Yeah, I think it was brought up yesterday in the thread about the AB reissue.

I can't imagine it's something that would be included with the release, maybe a separate thing like Q or other magazines do sometimes, like REM's Automatic for the People and Nirvana's Nevermind.

I think Glasvegas are boring :reject:

There are about two songs I like, the rest doesn't do anything for me. Plus I've found them to be quite arrogant in interviews. But I'm still curious what's the deal with this cover version. A separate U2 cover album would be rather cool. Maybe there will be an alternative Achtung Baby with all the original songs recorded by other artists. :D

Please. Dear. God. NO.

:scream:

Yeah. My eyes are still hurting from when I saw them open for U2 in Dublin.

No :reject: necessary! :hi5:

There are rumours that point to that direction, including the rumour that Coldplay has also recorded a U2 cover for the project.

Oh hell no. The last thing I want is some shitty covers of U2's best material.

My thoughts exactly, though for me it would be interesting to see how other bands cover songs on Achtung Baby -- though, it will not be the same, so it will be mostly shitty.

And to the original idea of Glasvegas I can only say :yikes:

I saw them at that gig too. The drummer looked liked she'd rather be doing laundry than in the middle of a stadium gig. I didn't buy the singers Strummerisims, either. He just look like he needed some more food on that body.

I call her Drummer Nanny. Was at the same gig as well. She looked like she was just pretending to drum there to watch the boys. Looked like she was hating the job too!

Dear god. Never have I experienced such horrors. :yuck: Possibly worst live band ever. And if you don't believe me, ask the people who went what he did on stage in Cardiff. :barf:
