Did anyone hear this? New Bono Interview on Irish Radio

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Um, okay, I only get a white bar and nothing to click on.

Maybe someone could make a download version of that interview?

They had a big celebration when the album went to #1 in 31 countries (and were sad it went to #2 in Finland)

Extraordinary stage set-up based on new engineering.
Will create a new feeling at the show.
Emphasises they aren't in the middle of the stadium.
People in the back will be like "10,000 people on the stage".
Won't be "too choreographed"
Bono will have to be very thin because people are so close! (running, boxing, chasing larry)
New songs are working out well in the live setting - there was concern.

Breathe has taken a life of its own.
Boots has taken on a rock 'n' roll vibe like it originally started with.
Moment of Surrender hasn't been played live yet - but has a hunch it will great live.

The album started out effortlessly in Fez (where they are currently), and ended on a high - but the middle period was difficult and they "lost their way". Larry in particular was saying "we don't have to put out an album"... the difficulty came when a deadline came.

Two desires: 1) completely ourselves and get to the essence of U2 and 2) be completely experimental. The album has both sides.

Moment of Surrender is very new for U2 (doesn't know where it comes from)
Magnificent is classic Edge, crystallised.

Haven't figured out the set-list yet. Rather than it being a jukebox of songs, they try and get the whole show to be greater than the sum of the parts. Tried to make up the setlist as they went along, but it didn't work.

Heard a guy in a car listen to White As Snow to half-way then change to SUC and pump the volume - which is "okay" - people create their own setlists.

Deluxe package has "moving images" as a screen-saver to the album.

Talks about the crew being the same as the early days (like Man Utd still playing with Best and Law)
First to use B-stages, first to use IEMs, first to use video-screens.
Bit of a risk on 360 Tour because they've never done it before - want that Madison Sq. Garden feeling.

Thank you for the summary :)

Chasing Larry

Seems the seats behind the stage might be the best, at least in stadiums where the stage isn't centered.

I cannot listen and I have enabled Flash, all other Flash objects work, but this one doesnt.

They did make it #1 in Finland

They did make it #1 in Finland, but only for the 2nd week. They debuted at #3, but that's because the album came out two days before the charts were updated.
