Boy tops 100 greatest debut album list

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

Who puts together these lists?

No Stone Roses? REM's Murmur at only 27? And yes, Oasis should be on there somewhere.

At least they remembered Portishead's Dummy and Massive Attack's Blue Lines, but I'd put both those a lot higher.

Boy is a decent album, but calling it the best debut ever is a joke.

Boy deserves to be recognized as one of the better debuts, but it's definitely not the best.

Guyz I don't understand why you are questioning this. Any time U2 wins an award or tops a list it is automatically the right decision, even if it isn't, because it's U2, how can you call yourselves U2 fans and question this?

Boy is great and maybe deserves that, but not on this list because:

No Oasis
No The Stone Roses
No Aerosmith

Conclusion: the list is ridiculous.

Okay...I LUVS THE BOY...

But #1...no

Top 20? HELLZ YEAH

AB is better, we can all agree on that one

i love Boy, its definitely a great debut album. but i cant believe there are so many others that are amazing and low on the list like Horses, Led Zepp, My Aim is True, Funeral, 77, Never Mind the Bollocks and so on..

Boy is a great debut, but I think REMs Murmur and Big Country's The Crossing are better debuts.

Ah, forgot to say: R.E.M. at #27??? Ridiculous.

I like Boy, but I think that Elvis Costello or R.E.M. should be on top. (And what's the criteria for this list? They can't have excluded Layla by choice)

Also, anyone here heard of Os Mutantes? Their debut is masterful.
