Keep in mind that the other two Best Ofs didn't have cover songs.....so I think "Saints" and "Ground" are highly unlikely....I do think "Window" could make an appearance since it would entice a few more people to buy this album while still allowing 18singles to prove useful since it will be the only place to get the Green Day collaboration.

No they meant Saints was a cover song and it wasnt very likely to be included as with The Ground Beneath Her Feet.I have no problem with Saints not being on a best of because I dont even really like that song.

Another reason "Ground" is unlikely to be included is the fact that it was the bonus track on a lot of editions of All That You Can't Leave Behind....so there isn't any reason to include it on a compilation for reference's sake when a lot of fans already had access to the track in the first place. Plus, it'll surely be released on the bonus disc for the ATYCLB remaster.

One thing you might all notice is that on the first two Best-Ofs they made sure that the opening track was NOT the opening track of an album. So; Beautiful day, Vertigo, or NLOTH cannot be track 1. And this is a good idea, they want the album to have a different feel.

I think that is where U2 made a mistake to be honest. Not so much with the first one but Even Better Than The Real Thing was a poor choice for opneing song. I would have gone with Beautiful Day. What am I saying the whole best of 1990 to 2000 sucked. Too many great tracks left off. Probably would have gone with Streets on the first one too.

The theory is, and I think they're right, that if two albums start the same they will be two similar. They need to start with a different track in order to have a different feel. It's cool if you view it differently, but keep in mind when guessing what they'll do for the next one, that they seem to be demonstrating that they view it this way...

1990-2000 had some major issues. It was revisionist history. I wouldn't say "sucked" but it could have been better. EBTTRT wasn't a bad opening choice though, because it was a statement about how the second decade of the band was a marked change in sound from the "real" U2 we had known up until then. I think Pride was meant to be a similar "mission statement" for the first best-of. That in mind.... I wouldn't be surprised if MAGNIFICENT ended up being track 1 of the 00 best of....

Oh, and all the guesses here might yet be premature.... Spiderman comes out this fall AND U2 is threatening to release another album this fall still! I suspect that one will slip to 2010, but even so, that means the best-of will have 2 albums to pick from that we haven't heard yet!
