Irritating day so far

Posted 08-11-2011 at 09:26 AM by U2MaNaIcWeIdO (Bored Chicagoan)

My dad wanted to go see Captain America today but I nixed it because I knew he would be dog tired from working almost a week and a half straight.

I feel guilty for doing it but he was acting like a whiny paranoid spoiled 5 year old (He acts like that when he's tired. The paranoia was from stress. They are constantly intermixed).

To tell you the truth...I rather never go out again (other than grocery) in order for dad to get some well needed rest. I'm willing to do the...

As it turned out, it was lucky that we saw that moose because our leader realised that the door to the trailer with all our camping gear and backpacks was not fully closed.

So the closest we got to the Alaskan wildlife was a few squirrels...

Trip to Alaska Part I

Posted 08-06-2011 at 11:09 PM by Saracene

I've spent two weeks in Alaska on a camping trip with Intrepid, and it's tied with Egypt as my favourite trip ever. It's probably not a coincidence that both tours, in different ways, really took me out of my comfort zone. Egypt marked the first time I went to a country with a truly different culture and conditions of living, and Alaska was the first time I've done a real camping trip. A camping trip with a group leader who knows what's what and makes you feel safe, mind you, but still.
