Journal Rules...

Posted 10-03-2004 at 02:51 PM by Elvis

I really think some of the folks here miss the intention of the Journals.

Journals are not about quality, nor are they about amusing/entertaining others... nor abusing them.

I could as easily remove all of the journal stats all together, and then the only way you'd be able to find someone's journal woudld be via their profile or a post they have made. Journals and the stats are an added feature for each member.

Journal's are not to be used like threads, or to attract others... or even to respond to other's journals - that's what comments are for.

If you can't behave, things will have to change.

And to those who may take my 'behave' comment the wrong way... I've seen/heard comments already about this.. and some of you have been outright RUDE and childish about this 'situation'.

perhaps you should clarify just who you believe has been childish and/or rude, because I'm not sure many people know just what you really think. I'm not trying to start anything, but sometimes I have no clue about what is permissable and what is not. Quite frankly it often seems to be based on whim.

Elvis, what is the strategic management policy revision plan for interference.com? Review the policies every one year or two? I havent been posting that long so Im not aware of when the policies were last reviewed. Perhaps the time is now.

Elvis, as not everyone reads your journal, nor will this post remain on top for very long, perhaps you should move it, or address those individuals privately--or put a sticky up in the forums to let everyone know about policy.

To say that journals are not to attract others is entirely ridiculous---why else have public journals? Who doesn't attempt to attract others to their journal with comments like, "OMG!" or "I'm depressed." It's an attention grabbing mechanism--plain and simple.

As for saying we're not allowed to respond to other journals in our own--that's out-and-out censorship. Are there any other topics you'd like us to ban from writing? Just wondering if i post my personal opinions on public defamation here, or if I'll be 'warned.'
