All is quiet on New Year's Day...

Posted 01-01-2009 at 04:19 AM by Discoteque

However, NYE was a little boisterous, for once, yay!

After a couple of dry years, as far as New Years Eves go, I went out with 5-6 friends for a wonderful sushi/hibachi dinner at a local restaurant. Our "dinner companions" at the hibachi table were this adorable young couple, probably about 18-19. We all remarked after they left that they could have been the children of any of us! Then afterward we went back to J's apt., where we played poker and gin, drank lots of champagne, and rang in the new year with New York (an hour late for them). But where was Dick Clark this year?

Usually I try not to even be out on the streets on NYE, since I know Dallas drivers are crazy--even moreso on NYE--but I managed to get home safely using the side streets. At 2:30 AM the streets are surprisingly empty, LOL.

So HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone out there! Hope you enjoyed ringing in the new year, and I hope your 2009 is 10 times better than last year. Goodness knows, for some of us, it can't get much worse!
