Fall Semester

Well, I'm into my studies, which are very interesting. I'm a psychology major. I want to be a licensed counselor in a college setting, because I've been to counseling and I do not like the approach. Don't go to college if you are not sure of what your major. I know nany people change their majors on and off, but I wouldn't recommend it. For instance, say you are unsure of your major and you go to be counseled, the counselor is just going to tell you the courses you should be taking (core liberal arts curriculum). But that can pose a problem when you finally do decide and then you've taken all of these courses that has nothing to do with that major and you have to take more courses than necessary. You're actually taking courses for the liberal arts or science or the major (psychology). This is what happened to me until I finally was advised correctly but I did not take a lot of courses that had nothing to do with psychology. And also realize that when you are being advised and unsure of your major, colleges need money from the state & gov and will counsel you to take any course just to keep you in school. But I am happy to report that there are so many programs on college campuses today that advise students correctly (student activities, honors society, etc) So make sure you get the right counseling and career choices you can deal with. Peace!
